ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

Our institution instruction and learning materials will be in English and Vietnamese. Enrolling area admitted as regular students under the following criteria.

  1. An applicant must provide one of U.S. government issued I.D. Card (e.g. Driver’s License, State Identification Card, Passport, Resident Alien, and valid Social Security Card.

  2. An applicant must provide one of the following to be admitted as student

  3. Successfully completed High School or its equivalent (GED). High school diploma or official transcript showing high school completion or GED certificate. The school requires an English and Vietnamese proficiency level of Below College

  4. Foreign Education Diploma must be translated and certified to be at least equivalent to U.S. high school diploma or GED.

  5. Prove of completion at homeschooling at the secondary level as defined by state law.

  6. Non-High School graduates or its equivalent must be at least 18 years of age (beyond the age of compulsory) will be required to pass the Ability –To -Benefit tests.

CEC §94811. Ability-to-Benefit Student (ATB)

“Ability-to-benefit student” means a student who does not have a certificate of graduation from a school providing secondary education, or a recognized equivalent of that certificate.

CEC §94904. Ability to Benefit Students

(a) Before an ability-to-benefit student may execute an enrollment agreement, the institution shall have the student take an independently administered examination from the list of examinations prescribed by the United States Department of Education pursuant to Section 484(d) of the federal Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. Sec. 1070a et seq.) as it is, from time to time, amended. The student shall not enroll unless the student achieves a score, as specified by the United States Department of Education, demonstrating that the student may benefit from the education and training being offered.

(b) If the United States Department of Education does not have a list of relevant examinations that pertain to the intended occupational training, the bureau may publish its own list of acceptable examinations.

Currently our school is using the CELSA Ability-to-Benefit test is approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education. This test will be administered by an

independent agency. The school’s admissions personnel will provide applicants with additional information as to how to arrange for the Ability-to-Benefit test. All Ability-to-Benefit students must take and pass the test prior to admissions. If you do not pass the exam, re-testing is available and the independent test agency will explain and provide you with the re – testing procedures. For Ability to benefit for students who are not English we will use the CELSA with a scales passing score of 97 and LPAT-V Vietnamese for students who in enroll in a program taught in Vietnamese. The passing score for the LPAT is 70 percent correct on both the reading and math portion. These tests are for students who do not have a high school diploma or GED.

  1. Advance Manicure applicants must have a valid license or completed course.

  2. The school does not currently admit students from other countries nor provide visa services.

  3. The school provides instruction in English and Vietnamese.

GED TRAINING PROGRAM AVAILABLE

Even though we accept ATB student, our institution encourages you to receive additional education benefit from completing GED training and pass the GED exam. GED training program available locally listed below to help students pass GED exam:

TERMS AND PAYMENTS: Monthly payment is available without interest for cost of tuition. A $ 2000.00 down payment is required for Cosmetology course. Prior to completion the course and receiving a Proof of training document all outstanding account balances must be paid in full.

REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLETION

Cosmetology Course: 1600 clock hours (10 months for full-time student) which include technical instruction hours and required operations covering all practices constituting the art of cosmetology pursuant to Barbering and Cosmetology Act. Technical instruction means instruction by demonstration, lecture, classroom participation, examination.

The required attendance schedules for student are: Full time student is minimum required of 24 hours or more per week. Part-time student is minimum required of 16 hours or more but less than 24 per week.

You may pre-apply for the State Board Exam when you have completed 75% for Cosmetology course (1200 hours)

After completion of the entire requirement, the student must take a State Board exam for licensing through the state of California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.

LECENSING REQUIREMENTS:

Person eligible for the California State Licensing Examination must provide a proof of training document verifying completion of the required technical instruction and practical operation as described in the program curriculum.

Our College does award scholarships periodically

THE COLLEGE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE TUITION AND FEES AND MAKE SUBJECT CHANGES WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE WHEN NECESSARY. ANY CHANGES WILL NOT AFFECT ATTENDING STUDENT.
